Since my childhood, everyone asked me what I want to be when I grow up. I’d always say I want to be a mom, because I really looked up to my mother. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that is the truth. I never set any goals for myself because no one worked up my courage. No one around me took any interest in my education. However, now I'm old enough to truly understand the importance of my education. These last four years of high school are foremost and it is vital to excel these years. For this, setting goals has helped me a lot already.
To make my high school journey smooth, I have set goals for this year.
Shakti's Goals For Freshman Year
My academic goals are: get into the Caltech. For that, I need to have good grades and excel in all my tests. I will maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout all the years. Learn new things because there will always be much more.
Everyone wants a healthy lifestyle, and I do too. For my freshman year, I have taken Pe to be fit so I can play any sport without any health issues. I'm planning on to take tennis for the next three years because I find it really interesting. So, those are my fitness goals.
I live with my parents and my elder sibling, who is pretty cool. I have learnt many things from her. She took care of me while my parents were far away and that made both of us really attached. Relationship with my dad is not going well these past three weeks but I hope it will get better soon. My mom and I get along pretty well. My family is not as close to each other than I thought we would be, after all we are a “family.”
Growing up I struggled talking to people. That is one of the reasons why I do not like socializing or working with people in groups. Another reason is that I have not found anyone who has the same interests as me, yet. I am really looking forward to meeting new people and making friends.
The last thing I would do before leaving this beautiful planet will be exposing the meat industries and the Dairy Council!
All these things seemed very little to me but growing up, I realised how important they are because I think that you can learn a lot more and make your existence worth.
